March 2012 Meeting

Hi All! Our next meet­ing will be at Topeka-Shawnee Pub­lic Library on March 6th at 6:30. Please check the sched­ule board in the rotunda to find the room we are meet­ing in. Our topic is Get­ting to Know Your Cam­era. I believe the photo topic is your choice. We have the four cat­e­gories: Cre­ative, Pic­toral, Nature, and Pho­to­jour­nal­ism. Bring a photo for each cat­e­gory, but no more than 5 per cat­e­gory. I want to con­grat­u­late all the win­ners in the dig­i­tal cat­e­gories we have from Feb­ru­ary! Good job to all! I haven’t received the prints back yet, but I’m sure they will be here this week. Hope­fully we will have some win­ners in those cat­e­gories as well. If you would like to enter the print cat­e­gories, please bring your prints with you to the meet­ing. The cat­e­gories for print are Color Print, Nature, Black & White, and Pho­to­jour­nal­ism. Print size for Pho­to­jour­nal­ism is no larger than 8x12 and if mounted, make sure it is a light­weight mount. All other cat­e­gories the max­i­mum size is 16 x 20. They can be mounted and/or mat­ted but do not have to be until they win 1st, 2nd, 3rd, or hon­or­able men­tion. You also need to label each print with the title of the print, cat­e­gory, mem­ber num­ber, maker’s name, and the cam­era club on the back side of the mount in the upper left cor­ner. We can send up to 8 per cat­e­gory. So far the most we have had is 6 in Color Prints and Pho­to­jour­nal­ism. We are look­ing for­ward to see­ing all your pho­tos at the meet­ing where names become faces and faces become friends.
